It’s important to make sure your business is taking time to make safety a priority. There have been some key changes in the last few months you need to keep track of along with some useful tips to keep your people safe. Here’s an update on what you might have missed.

Engineered stone - What you need to know

On 1 July 2024, it became illegal to use, supply and manufacture engineered stone benchtops, panels and slabs. There are some transitional arrangements but they don’t run for long. HIA has developed a comprehensive FAQ on the changes so you can get your next job right and let your customers know what it all means.

Safe Work Australia has also just released guidance on the ban and has a dedicated engineered stone ban website.
