We’re excited for Victorian plumbing apprentice, Sebastian Battista who is on his way to represent Australia in the 47th WorldSkills competition for young tradespeople.

The competition will be held in Lyon, France, in September. With more than 60 trades and skills represented and over 86 competing member countries.

Sebastian competed in the National competition in 2023 in Melbourne and was selected to represent Australia at the International event.

Sebastian’s journey started with a victory at the Regional competition in 2022, followed by participation at Nationals in Melbourne in 2023, and now has been selected for the international competition in Lyon. As a fourth-year apprentice, Sebastian works for his family’s business, Battista Plumbing and Gasfitting Pty Ltd, and has received invaluable mentorship from his father, Danny Battista, and expert support from Patrick Keating from WorldSkills, who himself won bronze representing Australia in Russia in 2019.

Reece is proud to support WorldSkills and Sebastian - we know how important apprentices are to our industry and to Australia’s economic wellbeing. We’ll be cheering on the Australian Skillaroo Team this September.
