Andy & Deb had a rollercoaster of a week, using their +1 gnome to get ahead of Elise & Matt to win an extra $20,000, only to hand $5,000 back in exchange for a terrace. However, they were confident their master ensuite was up to scratch.
The ‘wow’ moment came seconds into judging when the ceiling outlet started filling up the bath. Darren thought the room felt clean and minimal while Shaynna loved how the custom cabinet concealed the toilet from the entrance. With the little touches like the Turkish rug and the backlit bath, the judges found it hard to fault this space.
"I have never before seen that in my life."
Andy and Deb’s master ensuite fully embraces the textures that make for a successful day spa. The walk-in shower features two overhead showerheads in living tumbled brass and a matching hand shower for added functionality. The complementary shapes are evident in the freestanding bath, which echoes the curves of the basins and encourages lounging relaxation. The wall hung smart toilet proves that toilet functionality continues to innovate, complete with welcoming style that really adds to the relaxing feel.

Andy & Deb had a tough week on The Block this week, as they faced some structural setbacks that led to major changes in floor plan. Their main bathroom made a great first impression, and the judges loved the custom wooden vanity. However, they questioned the lack of a toilet in a ‘main bathroom’, and a couple of other layout issues that were a little disappointing.
"I love that basin, it’s absolutely beautiful and generous."
Andy & Deb’s earthy day spa main bathroom celebrates the elegance of the freestanding bath, which is certainly the statement piece of the space. The earthy feel is complemented by the taps in living tumbled brass that will oxidise to develop a gorgeous patina over time. The wellness feeling builds with the leafy foliage and the wooden bath tray. The timber vanity has an underlit glow and is topped by a vessel basin that mirrors the curves of the bath.

The first week on The Block saw Andy & Deb struggle to make an impression. However, after an outing to the newly renovated The Esplanade, a St Kilda institution, they were inspired and ready to tackle this week.
Andy & Deb stormed to first place and won with their perfectly functional and aesthetically stunning ensuite. Shaynna thought it was beautiful, with subtle and earthy glamour, and Neale wanted it in his house. These guys are onto a winner.
"Budget on a beautiful level"
Andy & Deb came out on top with a guest ensuite that perfectly blends a day spa look with traditional touches that really pay homage to the building. The wall hung vanity that mixes sharp angles with its curved inset basin and accompanying underlighting succeed in creating a soothing environment. The back to wall pan brings more contrasting curves to the space, and the concealed cistern keeps the room uncluttered.
Tumbled brass finishes are present throughout, which contribute to the day spa feel, as does the ceiling-hung plant. For a final luxe touch, the bathroom features underfloor heating, a great addition to this winning retreat.
