Tucked away in tropical Port Stephens on the NSW Central Coast is ‘The Ambers’, the latest project from Lauren Charge and Jenn Bliss, was toured by design trio Three Birds Renovations. The palatial five-acre property is a holiday retreat that sleeps 22 guests, and features a swimming pool, tennis court, and fire pit. Despite its massive size, the family who own the property wanted to maintain a warm and welcoming beach house vibe – albeit with a luxury spin.
Bonnie, Erin, and Lana of Three Birds Renovations were wowed by this project featuring some of their favourite Reece products. As longstanding partners to the Reece brand, Three Birds Renovations loved the choice made by Lauren and Jenn and how the opulent, beach resort-style bathrooms were brought to life by their builder and architect, Greenbuild Construction. Think extra-large baths, glowing backlit mirrors, and floor-to-ceiling windows for plenty of natural light (and a palm tree or two). When it comes to hotel-style bathrooms, no one does it quite like Reece.
Each room feels cohesive by using the ‘living rustic bronze’ colourway for all tapware and accessories, an innovative material that, with age, transforms from a golden hue to a brassy bronze. We love the idea of choosing a finish that is chosen with intention and will last the test of time.
The true hero of the master bathroom, however, is the freestanding ‘Val’ bath from LAUFEN. A perfect circle, the Val bath tub takes centre stage next to a garden view, with the specialised Sentec solid surface material allowing for stunning curved shapes. The generous size works for a gaggle of sandy kids -or a luxurious soak for one. Also in the master bathroom is the Milli ‘Mood’ overhead rain shower, perfect for washing off a long day at the beach.
Having created a number of other stunning coastal residences, Lauren and Jenn, together with Greenbuild Constructions, were well versed in blending form and function, with no better example than the Omvivo Venice pedestal basin. More artwork than plumbing, the freestanding pedestal-style basin instantly elevates the space to look modern and stylish, while optimizing the intimate space.
Overall, we see The Ambers bathroom spaces being both roomy and functional, which is important for a property that will likely see big groups staying at any time. Bright, airy, and modern, we love that The Ambers bathrooms look great – and will only get better with age.
