This year, Block contestants have been echoing the mood of the nation and using the bathroom as an opportunity to create at-home experiences that lift the spirits.
It makes sense; our research shows that over half of Aussies acknowledge the bathroom is taking on the role of a sanctuary in modern times.
With the need for these spaces to facilitate such deep connections to ourselves, there is one feature that has the ability to transform moods, brighten steps and afford users some well-earned ‘me’ time. The bath.
Let’s take a look at how the Blockheads are embracing this key bathroom feature.
A clear favourite on The Block this year is a pair of baths from hotel-inspired brand Kado, highlighting just how much these contestants are considering the needs of their prospective buyers.
The firm favourite? The Kado Lussi freestanding bath, as seen in Mitch & Mark, Josh & Luke and Tanya & Vito’s main bathrooms. Kirsty & Jesse also installed it in their ensuite. The shorter, 1500mm profile made it the perfect inclusion for their luxe, Hamptons feel.
The modern matte finish is made from cast solid surface, making it possible to achieve the ultra thin 5mm lip that dials up the wow factor, perfect for lasting and luxurious spaces.
It’s that tactile feeling of luxury that impressed the judges and will appeal to buyers at auction day.
Effortless and straightforward in design, the Kado Lux oval bath boasts clean lines and a modern shape which played perfectly into the mood for Ronnie & Georgia's main bathroom.
The effort paid off with the judges impressed that the team was focusing on mass appeal.
No commentary on baths would be complete without a stop-off at Josh & Luke’s master ensuite. They chose to make a statement with the LAUFEN Val round freestanding bath, a unique talking point that left the judges feeling like they were in a luxury retreat.
What a statement this bath makes. The circular design echoes Japanese Ofuro tubs, but in a modern shape and fine surface material, which make it a globally unique design.
Made in Switzerland by pioneering designers LAUFEN, the judges were right in thinking that this bath is opulence personified, perfect for the at-home wellness retreat the twins presented.
While we loved seeing the twins bring such vivid ideas to the cul-de-sac this year, it’s also worth noting that the bath and tapware are not intended for outdoor installation.
With help from our skilled team of consultants, we were able to take the contestants from dreaming about their time on The Block to believing they could achieve success with us.
